CYCLE CADES COVE

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

This 11-mile one-way road provides cyclists with an awesome opportunity for wildlife and vista viewing. On Wednesdays, May through September, Cades Cove offers a relaxing pedestrian and cyclist experience, while on all other days the route is open for a scenic drive. During summer and fall, bikes may be rented at the campground store near Cades Cove.

FISH FOR WILD TROUT & BASS

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

Fishing is permitted year-round in the park’s nearly 3,000 miles of freshwater streams which supports one of the last wild trout habitats in the Eastern United States. Experiences vary from remote, headwater trout streams to large, cool water small mouth bass streams, and all require a valid fishing license from either Tennessee or North Carolina.

RIDE THE TRAILS ON HORSEBACK

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

From family-friendly carriage and hayrides to backcountry trails atop your own horse, there are several ways for all ages and riding abilities to experience Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Guided rides are offered at three stables through the park — Cades Cove, Smokemont, and Sugarlands — and require a reservation. Those bringing their own horse to the park are encouraged to download a map of trails open to riding.
